I’m sure by now you’ve all heard about what’s going on with Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, a non-profit organization aimed at leaking information that is otherwise considered to be secret. Things got really hairy when Assange and his comrades began leaking correspondence documents between the State Department and diplomatic missions. A friend of mine is a U.K. diplomat and gave me the abridged version of what he does, so I would have been a little pissed about the leaks if I were a diplomat. Some see Assange as a modern-day cyber Robin Hood. Others see him as a serious threat to national security. You’re outlook would probably depend on your bias on United States foreign policy. On one hand, these leaks could potentially damage an attempt to create peace throughout the world and could even leave certain individuals vulnerable in the line of duty. On the other hand it could thwart the American agenda in the world, an accomplishment that some would see as virtuous indeed. So how do you see it? Look forward to reading your responses.
