Looking Forward, One Step at a Time

How do you get from point A to point B?

First, let’s look at a set of unknowns.  You don’t know the way.  You don’t know what dangers you will run into.  You don’t know if you might get lost and wander.  You don’t know who will be traveling with you.  You don’t even know if you’ll realize you’re at point B when you get there!

But there is something you do know, and it’s the most important.

You know how to take one step today.

Don’t fret over the unknowns.  Start with what you know, position your heart to be guided, and leave the rest for God.

I have not been made perfect, but I press on to lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus also laid hold of me. I do not consider myself yet to have attained it, but one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and stretching forward to what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:12–14)
