A series of messages have been thrown at me lately; and as usual I’ve finally come around to listen after about the fiftieth time. All these messages in their own right have led me this morning to remember O. Hallesby’s book Prayer, where he says this:
Your helplessness is your best prayer.
Let that one sink in for a bit. After taking such a prayer seriously, do you even pray at all? I mean, yes pray…but do you utter even a word? Perhaps we can set aside our attempts at playing God for a day and try out this simple, yet powerful, prayer.
