The main reason why we avoid confession and repentance is that little fit of discomfort on the front end.
It’s like choosing to exercise after being out of shape. You go back and forth between the logic of needing to exercise versus the waning will to push through the discomfort.
Confession, to sit in the discomfort of facing your wrongs and inadequacies, is tough. But push through…peace and freedom are waiting on the other end. Many times we want immediate relief from the shame and guilt brought on through facing sin, and we oftentimes don’t get it.
But fight on…peace and freedom are waiting for you on the other side.
