Ever catch someone with their headphones on, singing out loud without a care as to who they are bothering? That kind of bold confidence is admirable, but the people who live their lives in such a way; focused on their own little world and closed off to the cares of others, is not a quality appreciated by many people.
Not that I envy narcissists, but people caught up in themselves seem to do a much better job of shedding off criticism. I want to be caring; but I also want thick skin.
How do you care what people think (good quality), but then not care what people think (good quality)?
