I can remember walking through the woods as a child, looking to kick down smallish, dead trees. There was always a surprise in there, though. It was the little tree that had maybe a dead branch or two, but the jolt my ankle felt when tried to kick it down told me that there was much more life to this little tree than I had thought.
Sometimes when things seem dead, there’s still a little life kicking inside.
Charles Wesley wrote a hymn called “And Are We Yet Alive?”
And are we yet alive,
And see each other’s face?
Glory, and thanks to Jesus give
For his almighty grace!
You may want to look a little harder to see if there’s still a little life in that place, that church, that situation, that relationship. It could blossom into something you would have never imagined.
